LMU softball has signed three players to National Letters of Intent, Head Coach Gary Ferrin announced Thursday. In Stevie Goldstein, Samantha Nelson, and Megan Harman, the Lions are adding impact players at almost all positions with the addition of a pitcher, an outfielder and an infielder/outfielder. All three will join the Lions as freshmen in 2010-11.

Loyola Marymount senior infielder Megan Ackerman has been named the 2009 Pacific Coast Softball Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year, PCSC Commissioner Ellen Moore announced Monday.  Ackerman, from Thousand Oaks, Calif., graduated with a 3.03 grade-point-average while majoring in Natural Science. She will attend graduate school at the Los Angeles School of Chiropratic this fall. In addition, she was a four-year standout for the Lions, earning second team All-PCSC honors in 2006, 2007 and 2009.

Ellen Moore has been named the new commissioner of the Pacific Coast Softball Conference, PCSC President Mark Orr announced Monday. Moore becomes the PCSC’s second commissioner, replacing Wendy Guthrie, who served in the post since the conference started play in 2003.
